I’ve (re)discovered the joy of creating. Drawing, painting, writing. And all that and more combined in art journalling. It makes me so happy! It doesn’t have to be complicated to be pure and good. And you can learn so much by just doing it, and keep doing it. Discover your own style, learn from what you see around you.

Right now I am following a workshop at Suzi Blu’s Les Petit Academy, and I’ve learned loads. She is a great teacher and she is very inspiring, and she showed me that this is something that is very important to me. I knew that already, but sometimes it’s easy to sort of forget. I love making art. Creating helps me express the joy I have in life. Mixed media is awesome. I never quite understood why there are people who only work with one kind of material. It’s all awesome and I want to use it all.

An empty sketchbook is full of promise, what will fill the pages? This is a Japanese Fold Moleskine that I got for the international Moleskine sketchbook exchange. In it groups of artist (professional or not, doesn’t matter) each get such a Moleskine and fill a few pages, then they sent it on to the next person, who ads some art of their own, and so forth until the book is full and returned to it’s owner. You can read more about it and see the results in the Flickr group devoted to the project. I’m going to be in Moly_x_74.

Ik heb een mooie roze PoGo printer!
Gisteravond heb ik hem opgehaald in de winkel waar ik hem besteld had, en thuis heb ik hem natuurlijk meteen uitgeprobeerd!
Het is me meteen gelukt om van allebei mijn camera’s te printen en ook van mijn computer. Mijn telefoon pakt ook het bluetooth signaal op, dus daarvan zou het ook nog eens kunnen, maar die camera gebruik ik eigenlijk niet.
De prints zijn 3×7cm en dun en hebben een stickerachterkant! Dus zoals je hier op de scan ziet, heb ik mijn try-outs in mijn Moleskine schetsboek geplakt.
Ik ben er echt zoooo blij mee!
