It took me a long time to upload this video, I always have to convert the files from my camcorder in handbrake to a format my imovie can handle, but this one was just to heavy to import apparently. So I just gave up on any kind of editing and uploaded it like it is, in all it’s stupid drunkenness.

We got really drunk, and made stupid jokes and not very good music. (Normally Thomas and Ben are much better.) It was awesome, we should visit Ben in Paris more often. :) I am terrible at recording video, as seen from me taping Thomas’s trousers while searching for my beer. All the comments on the percentage of smiles are in reference to my camcorders smile-o-meter.

I present to you: Thomas (Dutch) + Ben (French) + Bear (Stuffed) playing Falling Slowly (among other things). I think that Thomas is secretly a Nerdfighter, what with the putting of things on his head. (Susan had already gone to bed like the smart person she is and slept through all our ruckus.)

The truth has a habit of falling out of your mouth – Glen Hansard, ‘Leave’

Such a great song. It’s from the Once soundtrack. I’ve never seen the movie (I hear it’s good), but I just bought the album and it is so amazing! Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova have all my love, I can not stop listening to all the briljant songs.

Music!

Once in a while the music-guy at Metro collects all the cds that have been sent to him but he won’t actually listen to/write about (he has to be selective and only focus on what he and our readers would find interesting, he simply can’t listen to it all) is put in a big box for everybody to root around in and take home what they would like. I’ve found some gems that way (Julia Marcell and Vashti Bunyan, who fit in my personal musical landscape perfectly) and some stuff that was o.k. but not very interesting (I mostly forget about having those in my iTunes). Most of the artists are unknown (at least to me), and I select purely on if I like the cover-art. It’s amazing what you can tell about the music purely from how the case looks. I’m pretty stoked with my picks this time:

Never gonna

Look at my poor neglected blog!
Sometimes I have these enthusiastic ‘I’m going to write more!’ moments and set myself down to just write and see what comes out. This has led to me posting more things here. But these moments never last. Stuff gets in the way,  laziness gets in the way. And before you know it it’s been over a month since I’ve done anything with my blog. Is this a sad thing? For me personally yes, but I doubt anyone else would care. Let’s face it, my creative efforts on this blog are at best mediocre. Yet I want to do it, get exited about things and write, take pictures, draw, do everyting with it basicly. Communicate, even if nobody is really listening. And I want to get better at all those things. Which takes practice. And practice. And then some more practice!

This is not news. But I need to find a way to keep up with the creative momentum, and I just don’t know how. To keep writing and doing things. It might not end up on this blog, but it will help me improve. I wish to learn. But I truly don’t know how to keep up the discipline. Which makes me feel like an idiot. But here’s to start #idontknowhowmany. Because I’m never going to give up trying to make things.

To borrow some words of Rick Astley:
Never gonna give you up

Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

:D
