Stupendous Chandler

Stupendous Chandler and friends

I got a lovely package in the mail today, the Chandler the Robot jewellery I had ordered!
I’d been thinking about getting a Chandler for  while now, and when Stupendous Chandler became an option I fell in love. The creator is Meg Frampton (who also makes lovely music with her sister as Meg & Dia) and she gave a 20% discount on her birthday! So instead of just ordering the necklace and the Willie earrings I had planned, I also got the Out of Time earrings because of the generous discount.
I am just in love with her work. And while I was nervous about the postal service screwing up, I just had to get my very own Stupendous Chandler. Now that he and his little friends have arrived safely I know I can get more friends for them when new ones I would like appear in the shop. (She does limited editions, I fear they might be incredibly addicting.)

Photo’s of stuff

A post with a bunch of random photos that don’t really go together but that I want to share.

Dead mouse

I have mouse-issues, they invade my home and try to eat my stuff and poop on everything. They make noise and stink. It’s unhealthy to just let them take over.
But some of them look so cuddly I feel sad about having to kill them to fight of their invasion.

Chest

I bought this second hand chest to house (most of) my art supplies. According to a lady on the bus I took it on, it was what people in ‘grandmothers time’ used to keep their sewing supplies in.

Aqua markers

Got some new aqua markers today, trying them out. When I was in the store I was so intent on selecting colours I didn’t realise that out of the ten I chose five were actually pro markers, not aqua. Don’t worry I’m just going to add the pro markers to my copic marker selection, and have just five aqua markers for now. So far I really like them.

Today I made a stop at The Village for a cappuccino.

I tweeted the picture of my cup and got a response from my friend Thomas (it’s his favorite coffee-haunt) to say hi to the guys behind the counter and to ask whether they had found his hat, because he lost it there.
Now you must understand, we all love this hat. He wears it everywhere, and you can see it on our French friend Ben’s head in the HeyDay video. Ben insists that he looks better in the hat than Thomas does but Thomas refuses to give it away. And he just went and lost it.

So I looked around the The Village, and saw the hat forlornly waiting to be claimed by it’s owner. I laughed, and told ‘The Village-people’ (ghehe) about Thomas’ tweet. They know him well (he’s there all the time) and decided that I could claim the hat for him.

Look what I got!

Now me and the guys from The Village agreed that the hat needed to have his own adventures before being reunited with it’s owner who so wantonly abandoned it.
So untill Thomas and I manage to meet up, I will help the hat with it’s adventures and post instagram pictures on twitter and facebook. The results so far:

Books books books!

Four books I had ordered arrived today. Now my to-read pile is approaching absurd proportions.

Books!

I am not allowed to buy any more books until I’ve read these!
(I also have pile of books I’ve started and then for one reason or an other stopped reading, but that I do want to finish. It’s only five books though.)

Those of you who keep up with my I found a bookmark blog might remember having seen The Shack on my accepted suggestions list there. There’s a Dutch translation in my library and I intend to read this English copy and then put the bookmark into the Dutch library-book. (Like I did with An Abundance of Katherines. Whose writer by the way, John Green, is on this to-read pile three times.)

I also try to read along with which-ever book Mark is doing over on Mark Reads, but since I’ve already fallen way behind on Lord of the Rings I’m not sure that’s something I’ll be able to do. (It’s okay, I have read LOTR several times before, but still.)

Yes, I’m crazy about books. I love reading, and although I can never go as fast as I could when I was a child (because I had so much more time then) I do want to keep reading a lot. Thankfully I have a boyfriend who’s also an avid reader, so we can lie next to each other in bed and blissfully read our books.
