In which random photos of things get shown

Sunny stairs

These are the last photos of the Black and White Ilford roll that I had in my Olympus Trip. I tend to carry at least one camera with me, so at times I have random photos of things I spotted. These are the ‘things I see’ photos of that film roll. Most of them are taken at the train stations I frequent as a commuter.

Museum Gathering

And I am back with yet more pictures of a Nerdfighter gathering! In march we went to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and I brought my Olympus Trip (with the same Ilford roll as the pictures from my last post) and also my digital DSLR. Outside the weather was beautifully sunny, so I took a lot of pictures while we were waiting for everybody to arrive and also when we had finished with the museum and went outside to catch some rays again.

Here are the analog pictures! I’ll post the digital ones later this week. 🙂

The analog pictures

The photos I took with my Olympus Trip camera during the international nerdfighter gathering in Maastricht! It is the first time that I used this film, Ilford HP5 400, a black an white film that is generally loved among lomographers because it produces high contrast photos. Of course, it was a terribly grey day, weather Dutch people will recognize with the heavy clouds covering the entire sky flattening out the light.

Kjeld surrounded by dead people

Kjeld surrounded by dead people! Inside there was too little light according to the light meter of my camera, but I forced it to take a picture anyway. 🙂 We played a Detective game with the entire group, Kjeld had to figure out who the murderer was before everyone died. My last words were, “If I die it’s gonna be your fault”.

Sjoerd had a little more luck while clueing for looks.

City hall

Out on a walk in Maastricht, I took a picture of the City Hall and we also ran into a bunch of ducks.

Swan

Sometimes when shooting with my analog cameras like the Olympus Trip, I forget that the viewfinder doesn’t show the focus. So when the swan came closer I forgot to adjust it. Oops.

A day spend visiting Haarlem

Anne in Haarlem

This lovely lady is my best friend. Last month we took a day to go to Haarlem to visit the Dolhuis museum. We really liked Haarlem when we went there in summer so we decided to return for the first of our ‘museum-days’. (Next up is Den Bosch, so if anybody knows of a nice museum for us to visit there let me know!)

The Dolhuis used to be a house where crazy people and lepers were put to remove them from general society, and now it’s a museum on the history of psychiatry. It’s interesting to see the mistreatment people suffered and how the science developed, it also has people explain in their own words (through recordings) how they experienced their disorders.

Normaal mens

I had brought my Holga with the wide angle lens on it, and these photos are from the same film roll as the lens test shots I took. The weather was lovely sunny and terribly windy.
