30 things to do before I’m 30

I turned 29 in the beginning of July, and now I am approaching the big 30. I don’t want to be the kind of person who will be bothered by no longer being a 20-something, as if 30 is somehow waaaaay older. But I find that I do care. So when I saw that Kathleen is working on a 30 before 30 goals list, it made me feel like that is an excellent way to mark the occasion in a positive way. There are a lot of things I want to do! The fifth issue of The Anglerfish!

There’s a new issue of The Anglerfish!

Joan and Sherlock

You may recognize Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller as Joan Watson and Sherlock Holmes from the television series Elementary. There is an article about that series in the issue, for which these portraits are the illustrations. It was the first time for me to draw real people and I am pretty happy with the result. Okay, yes, I still see faults everywhere, but overall I’m pretty happy. I also like the way I coloured them. I don’t often scan my drawings and colour them digitally, usually it’s either fully analog or fully digital. I like the hybrid and plan on trying more of it. 🙂

This issue of The Anglerfish contains lots and lots of Sherlock, so if you enjoy Arthur Conan Doyles detective in all different versions you will like reading this magazine! There is also some Batman and his sidekicks, fairytales, television nostalgia and many more things. So go read it!
